May the God of peace hold you in his hands always.Hello:
This is Jim. Orignially, this was an apology page. Actually, it still is an apology page, but the apology is down below. I leave it there for you to read. I put it together long ago when I got some rather nasty e-mails about spam, even though I did not know what I was doing was spam when I tried to promote my book.
Now, this is a page to redirect you to the real book area. follow the little airplane to get to where you can read about Cookin' At Cook.
May Jesus bless you always and lead you to His kingdom.

This is the apology part.......
Based on what I have seen thus far, the e-mail that was sent out in my name March 4 (and maybe 5), 2002 was done improperly. If you are here about that, please read on.
First, I apologize that you received an e-mail that did not have the proper disclaimers. An error was made in the design of the e-mail and the marketing company did not catch it. If you want to complain to them, they are a company called Worldreach.
Given that I contracted to have this mail sent, the reality is I don't have the mailing lists used and there is no way, I am told, to post a remove button that will work. I could post one, but that would be a deception. Part of the problem I now face is that I was trying to avoid a deception when the mailing first went out.
I can, if I wish, send another e-mail to each of you who received the first one. The second one would have only the remove link on it. It would also have a send only e-mail address, which is bound to anger someone, and you would be receiving yet another unwanted e-mail. I ran this idea past two people who e-mailed me to complain. The vote was 50/50. In order to prevent further upset, I chose to post to Worldreach to let you vent your anger.
On to another issue. Someone sent me an e-mail that my original apology was obviously insincere because it "ended with a lead-in" to the book. That is an unfair accusation. I did that because I wanted to apologize first, but if someone was really interested in the book, I thought they ought to have the right to do so. In fact, I had one person who says she was extremely grateful to learn of the book and my son.
Several other people accused me of trying to run a scam. I don't know what they base this on. There is no scam here. There is no deceit. This website and what it represents is based on the reality of my family's life.
I want to thank those of you who sent me constructive negative comments and actually gave me a way to respond to you. First, I have learned some things I never knew about this e-mail marketing and the related laws. Second, once we got past the initial anger, I think I met some pretty decent people. I appreciate the ability to personally apologize for the error that was made. After we corresponded, some you actually accepted the apology and realized that I meant to do things right.
Some people sent e-mail or wrote stuff on my guestbook that was pretty vile. I am trying to get it off now since most of the people who visit don't like that kind of language. If you who did this had read some of the rest of the guestbook, you might have seen where someone put a "spam" right into my guestbook for a sex site. I am still trying to get rid of it. See, I have the same troubles with this stuff you guys do. That's why I tried to do it right.
There was one guy named Bob who accused me of fraud that I tried to respond to and couldn't. I assume he probably entered his e-mail wrong. If you are him and you read this and want a personal apology from me, send me your address and I will write.
I now consider that I have now done everything humanly possible to be sensitive to everyone's feelings and, yet, correct the error. I will bet someone will say this whole apology is all a crock. It is not, but I can't convince the skeptics. If my actions since March 4, 2002 don't convince you, there's nothing I can say that will.
If you want to read the first apology, click here. You should go there.
Below is a link to the page about Cookin' At Cook. If you are one of those who is genuinely interested in the book, please click the link below. Otherwise, please leave and have a happy life.
If you choose to go further just to attack me, I have to remind you of something. You came here because you were mad that someone sent you an e-mail to which you could not reply. That would make me angry too. However, you were able to get here and I will be leaving my e-mail address so you can write to me. You were not, therefore, left without any way to contact me. If you do write to me and choose not to leave a return address, then you have done nothing more than what you think I did. So, please, accept this apology, unless you want a personal one and are willing to send me your real address.
By the way, like I said before, Worldreach is a marketing company and the lists used in this failed campaign are maintained by them. I do not collect personal information on anyone and that includes their e-mail address. I will not retain any return address from anyone writing to complain. My e-mail address is jkm@crystalisland.com.
May God bless you in all your endeavors and bring you safely to heaven when the time comes.
